AOSTA'S UNIQUE ITINERARY
DAY 0 - ARRIVAL IN COURMAYEUR
Courmayeur
Welcome to Valle d'Aosta, specifically in Courmayeur. Time to check-in at the hotel’s accommodation: here the adventure begins. The dinner (typical Aosta Valley) with the Guide will be the moment to clarify possible questions, connect and brief for the following days. Already with the Mont Blanc range quietly watching from above, the preparation and the evening will be the first of many memories collected in the following days

DAY 1 - MALATRA + SAINT RHÉMY
Courmayeur - Saint Rhémy en Bosses
32km / 1300m + / 1500m -
And off we go! After a short shuttle connection, we'll start riding on a gentle climb at the bottom of the Val Ferret. Soon after, the angle will increase and our next target will be in sight: Col de Malatra at 2925m on the sea level. This generous and long climg will take the morning but our lunch will be with a great view. Off to the descent then: 2h of descending single-track to the town of Saint Rhémy en Bosses. We'll ride on steep terrain, some exposed sections, flowy, fast and tight switchbacks. A day to set a good start for sure.

DAY 2 - JUST ABOVE AOSTA
Saint Rhémy en Bosses - Rifugio Fallère
30km / 1200m + / 800m -
After a substantial breakfast we immediately get into the heart of our second day of adventure. We'll make our way down the valley on a great track beside the river bed after which we'll soon catch the van to gain some road altitude. From this point we'll start riding on a gentle gravel road leading to the Rifugio Chaligne: snack time, grab lunches and we'll move to Point Chaligne itself. This is our pass for the day. Another lunch with a view overlooking Aosta and with a stunning view on Grivola and Grand Combain. Tecky descent and soon on a hilly sungle-track leading to Rifugio Fallere, our stay for the night. This will be our "night out": no shuttle support so the change for the night will have to be carried in our backpacks. The stay is cosy and the food amazing. Perfect location for an adventure accommodation.

DAY 3 - CROSSING OVER TO COGNE
Rifugio Fallère - Cogne
35km / 1300m + / 3200m -
Our night accommodation will most likely gift us with an amazing sunrise. Italian full-on breakfast and off we go into the first part of the day. We'll descend one of the fastest and most complete single tracks of our adventure rolling into Aosta city. Here we'll meet the van again and we0ll be able to unload a part of our overnight gear. Nice and lighter, we'll catch the gondola, and then lift up to Pila. At the highest point we'll start a breathtaking traverse on a unique ridge. The 360 view from there is unparalleled. Another stunning lunch with a view and, from the Col Tsa Seche, down we'll go into Cogne on a 1400m drop single-track descent.
Get ready to be treated (once more) by an amazing local dinner in a pretty special place.

DAY 4 - AT LONG LAST
Cogne - La Thuile
40km / 1400m + / 1900m -
This day will be nothing too complicated: one long up, one massive down. Easy right?
Like most proper alpine climbs, ours this morning will go tarmac > gravel > rough gravel > single track > hike-a-bike. What a location we'll reach though. Today's 3000m pass will lead us into an amazing 2h descent back to Cogne. Surely an unforgettable experience. After a possible dip in the river, we'll follow the road down for a few minutes and will re-join the trail at Pont d'Ael: a romantic bridge/water conduct built in 3 B.C. Perfect way to finish rolling down one last single-track to Aymaville, just above Aosta. After a drink to celebrate the day, we'll drive to La Thuile for the last day.

DAY 5 - LA THUILE, WHAT ELSE
La Thuile - Courmayeur
40km / 800m + / 2700m -
Easy wake-up in La Thuile and soon ready for a half-day in one of the best natural bike parks in the alps. Period. We'll be able to start on easy lines and, if we wanted to, drom into loamy, rooty, steep single tracks carved in the woods. Back at base for lunch after which, one short shuttle lift will take us to Colle San Carlo. From this point, a 1h pedal on a very consistent military trail will get us to Col Croce (also start of the famouns EWS stage). To close the day, and the trip, the best, we'll start surfing one of the most thrilling single-tracks all the way down to Morgex. Beer, ice-cream, drink, you call it! Anything to celebrate a fantastic high-alpine adventure!
One last shuttle trip and we'll be back in Courmayeur for a shower, dinner and well-deserved sleep!
