Technique-specific coaching and improvement

GENERAL INFOS

Technique on mountain bike rides is such a fundamental component for safe, fun and enjoyable riding. This taylored coaching structure is aimed for riders who are keen on improving their technique and have a custom session for their improvement needs.

This is available for riders at any level, from Beginners to Experts (see ITRS Rating). The course consists of initial discussion, small assessment and a big on-the-ground, practical section of the course. Aimed towards fixing mistakes, setting the bike up, structured basic position and so much more

DETAILS

Who is it for:

This course is used by a wide range of people from different backgrounds who have varying goals but all share the will to improve their riding skills, start the sport the right way or simply learn something new. Below is a list of possible topics different level riders can be interested in when entering this course:


Beginner


  • learn basic skills

  • basic bike setup

  • understand bike functioning

  • improve initial confidence on the bike

  • venture on new trails

  • start preparation for a goal


Intermediate


  • refine body position and understand reasons of movements

  • use flow to connect sections of trails

  • maintain consistency on a trail / tour / trip

  • technique and fitness: find out what the connection is

  • brake the most efficient way

  • how to climb better and more technically


Advanced


  • dealing with specific terrains and conditions

  • how do I overcome the "my friends keep on improving, it seems like I am not"?

  • how to keep on riding fast but not braking many components on the way

  • dealing with drops, tight corners and lookse terrain at the same time

  • dialling specific skills (see bunny hops, endos, nose pivots, etc.)

  • improve body awareness and skills combination


Expert


  •  reviewing basic skills to polish advanced techniques

  • specific line choice

  • finding more speed and momentum through skills training and line choice

  • advanced suspension setting

  • micro-movements targeting skills improvement

  • video comparison with professional athletes and discussion


Included:


  • fully-qualified, expert coach for the course

  • session equipment (training ramp, cones, jump bar, tools, etc.)

  • tool kit for the session


Not included:


  • personal equipment (bike, helmet, protection, etc.)

  • shuttle/transport (when needed)

  • travel

  • insurance

  • accommodation


Optional extras:


Extensive multiple-session package for consistent, long-term improvement.


Cost:

170€ per person

(no minimum of riders, discounts apply for bigger groups)


Equipment:


  • a well serviced mountain bike (not e-bike) suitable for the terrain. A modern all mountain/enduro bike with a dropper post is ideal.

  • helmet (open-face works well)

  • gloves

  • pads/protection. This comes down to personal preference.

  • eye protection (for all conditions)

  • appropriate clothing for all weather conditions

  • water

  • tool kit (if available)


Bike recommendation:


Bike choice is a very personal thing and not an easy task with so many options available on the market. A well-serviced mountain bike will do.
